Putin says Russia exported $4.6 bln weapons, equipment in 2016

MOSCOW, Jul 8 (PRIME) -- Russia has exported U.S. $4.6 billion worth of weapons and military equipment in 2016, while the order portfolio significantly exceeds $50 billion, President Vladimir Putin said Friday at a meeting of the government’s commission for military and technical cooperation with foreign countries.

“The tasks that were set before the Russian military and technical cooperation system for 2016 are being fulfilled. The amount of exports of weapons and military equipment has almost reached the level of $5 billion and stands at $4.6 billion, while the order portfolio is significantly above $50 billion,” he said.
